Mary Opolot

Mary passed away in the comfort of her nursing home in Pasadena, Texas  Wednesday morning, January 30, 2019.  She is survived by her 4 sons, 6 grandchildren, as well as numerous other family members from her Village in Uganda and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband Dr. James Opolot.  Mary had a strong passion for gardening which she did every growing season, cooking her cultural foods, doing arts and crafts, and writing.  Mary had such a love and passion for food she made it a point to get a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in Food and Nutrition.
