Rikky Joe “RJ” Carter passed peacefully on January 09, 2019. He started his
journey in Lockney, TX on August 22, 1937.
His lifetime on this earth has allowed RJ to dip into several career fields. A
start in carpentry lead to the construction of homes and properties around
Houston and South Houston which lead to the building and operation of
apartment communities and clubs. After leaving the real estate business, RJ
jumped into the glass industry, film tint and then into auto accessories. When
combining all of this and adding in his seasonal pumpkin and Christmas tree
sales, RJ has had a full life of experiences that has lead to immeasurable
friendships that crossed ages and borders. Of all the friendships he had the
most important were those he held with his children, grandchildren and great-
grandchildren. There was not a time when RJ was not available to offer
conversation, advise or a good laugh to the family he was so proud of.
RJ was preceded in death by his beloved son, Nikky Carter and survived by
his older brother Troy Carter and wife Nancy, his devoted daughter Mikki
Lynn Wallen, his son Tab Carter and wife Jeanie, his dedicated son Todd
Carter and wife Denise, his daughter Tonja Starnes, his daughter Shannon
Timmons and husband Zach, daughter Tina Morales and husband Clarence;
