Rodney J. Casanova
1957 - 2020
Rodney J. Casanova passed away at home on August 16, 2020 at the age of 63 due to heart disease. He was born in Houston, TX and had lived his whole life in Houston close to family.
Rodney graduated from Sterling High school in 1975. Soon after, He entered the IBEW electrical apprenticeship and worked as a journeyman electrician on many large projects in the Houston Medical Center and around Texas. He loved working with his IBEW brothers and commented often on how they really looked after each other. Having the habit of always running late, Rodney joked time and again “I’m going to be late to my own funeral!”. He was an ardent dog lover and was always ready to pick up a stray and nurse it back to health. Rodney loved family gatherings and holiday celebrations and reminiscing over family memories. He loved books and was an avid reader on many subjects just like his mother. Rodney spent the later years of his life taking care of his beloved mother through her illness and missed her deeply after she passed. Rodney is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Janie Casanova, aunt Mary, grandparents Melvin and Adele Casanova, uncle Homer, aunt Linda and cousin Jason. He is survived by his daughter Lauren, his aunts Melva, Virginia and Dorothy, uncles Jim and Bill, cousins Warren, Teri, Monica, Sheila, Bill, Charles and Johnny. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.
